High nutrient levels in samples are quite common and typically OK! Many of these values are associated with natural soil conditions or highly organic soils and mulches.
- Simply, you will not have to apply these nutrients at this time. Allow your plants to naturally draw these nutrient levels down over time, like a bank account.
- When nutrient levels start to become low, then it will be necessary to build the bank account back up to the 'Optimal' level by recommending a new fertilizer with your next test.
- If all nutrients are 'Optimal' or 'High' at time of sampling, the recommended fertilizer shown in your report will be the future product recommendation (for Lawn & Turf only), even if the recommendation doesn't require an application for the next 4-6 weeks (noted below).
- If Sodium (Na) is one of the high nutrients, Gypsum can be applied to displace the sodium from the soil and leach it below the rootzone with heavy water applications.
